ProtoWorld is a platform to develop distributed simulations oriented mainly towards urban simulations. The platform is a distributed, integrated and interactive urban simulation capable of integrating vehicular and pedestrian simulations. ProtoWorld contains interfaces to SUMO, Vissim, MatSim and integrates with custom pedestrian simulations.
The code is licensed under GNU LGPL V3 (https://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl-3.0.txt). Assets are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0)(https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/) licence, unless otherwise mentioned. Other assets and models retain their original licenses.

ProtoWorld was developed at the Gaming Participatory Labs (GaPSLabs) at the School of Technology and Health, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Huddinge, Sweden. Authors are Jayanth Raghothama, Miguel Ramos Carretero, Aram Azhari, Johnson Ho and Sebastiaan Meijer.
The dashboard branch contains a visualization dashboad developed for the PETRA EU FP7 project. The dashboard contains an user interface to various forms of data visualisation, as well as a number of tools, fixes, and optimizations. Additionally, various scenes have been created using these new features. The dashboard was developed based on ProtoWorld, by TUDelft.
